Women’s Basketball Advances Past Richmond With 79-68 Win In A-10 Quarterfinals

DAYTON – The No. 1 seeded University of Dayton women's basketball team advanced past the No. 9 seeded Richmond with a 79-68 win in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship.

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will play No. 2 seed VCU in the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championship title game Sunday at 12 p.m. on ESPNU at UD Arena. DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team defeated Saint Louis 58-50 in the semifinal of the 2020 Atlantic Women's Basketball Championship at UD Arena Saturday.

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team defeated VCU 52-48 in the final of the 2020 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship at UD Arena Sunday.
No. 1 seeded Dayton improves to 25-8 overall with the win and the No. 2 seeded Rams drop to 20-12 overall to finish the season. Dayton earned the Atlantic 10's automatic berth to the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship.

Dayton's Jayla Scaife was named All-Tournament Team and Tournament MVP while Kyla Whitehead earned All-Tournament honors as well.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.—Fordham’s Bre Cavanaugh was named the Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Player of the Year while Dayton head coach Shauna Green was voted A-10 Coach of the Year. The league announced its annual awards Thursday in advance of the A-10 Championship heading to UD Arena on the campus of the University of Dayton for the quarterfinals, semifinals and final, which begin Friday.

Green, in her fourth season leading the Flyers, led Dayton to a 21-8 overall record and 15-1 in the Atlantic 10. Dayton won the regular season title and claimed the top seed for the A-10 championship.
